My name is Niamh Flynn and I am a Registered General Nurse and have completed an MSc in Allergy.  More importantly I am the mother of 4 young boys, one of whom has multiple food allergies and anaphylaxis and another who has been recently diagnosed with asthma.  Our son was diagnosed with eczema, food allergies and anaphylaxis at a very early age and we have experienced many challenges with these over the past 8 years.

Due to continuous encounters with misinformation and lack of understanding regarding allergies, I felt that in order to educate others in the day to day care of our son, I needed to educate myself first. Being a qualified nurse enabled me to pursue this and I have now successfully completed my allergy studies at the University of Southampton, U.K.

I have previously given talks to parents, schools, community nurses, GAA clubs and at Allergy Expos. I am a member of the Irish Food Allergy Network (IFAN) and am very keen to develop allergy awareness within the community.
